Mainsail

As mainsail sail that is called, being driven on the main mast of a sailing ship or the mast of a sailboat or a sailing yacht slupgetakelten.

Depending on the type of ship the mainsail a fore- or a square sail can be. In square-rigged ships, it is the lowermost sail on the mainmast.
