Geographical Location

The community Mainstockheim lies in the western part of the district of Kitzingen in Maindreieck right on Main. Mainstockheim is conveniently accessible via the A 7, A 3, and over the railway connection Kitzingen.

History

The name Main -stock home has a foundation in the time of the Frankish conquest around 800 after Christ.

During a land acquisition of Ebracher monastery is the village was first mentioned in 1140. 58

The oldest settlement area in the north of the village are the houses around the former Gumbertuskirche. They can be seen today in its baroque ridge turret. It was followed by the emergence of a second core to the fortified settlement of Jacob Church, today's Protestant parish church. Only after the Thirty Years' War, the two urban centers gradually grew together.

In 1500 the monastery Ebrach established a monastery office. Since then, there is the still operational ferry over the river Main, which has enabled the direct route to Ebrach.

Mainstockheim was managed by the Ganerbengemeinschaft the Margrave of Ansbach, the Abbey Ebrach and the lords of fox Ganerbendorf. The rule in the village was set down in writing. The agreement was renewed in 1549. The Community administration lasted until the place became part of Bavaria after the secularization in 1806. After a short period of service in the Grand Duchy of Würzburg 1810-1814 Mainstockheim was definitively incorporated into the Kingdom of Bavaria.

Jewish Life in Mainstockheim goes back to the 16th century when in 1594 a Jewish population is locally called. At least since the 18th century Jewish families in the village were established, the (unknown year of manufacture) already built a first synagogue. At the building, which is the Catholic Church today, a memorial plaque to the persecution and murder of the Jewish population during the Holocaust.

Mainstockheim heard in the municipal reform 1978 management community Kitzingen.

Coat of Arms history Mainstockheim leads a coat of arms since the 16th century. A detectable in the village of Procedure of the 16th century coat of arms was included in the current coat of arms. It was the acknowledgment by the government of Lower Franconia on June 23, 1971

The colors red and silver are the colors of the Swiss franc. The wave bar in green is an indication of the geographical location on Main with the direct ferry to Albertshofen. Speaking for the local part of the name -stock is the red rhizome in silver.

St. James

The Parish Church of St. James the Elder. shows traces of former fortification. Radical changes have taken place within the meaning of Margrave style.

Old cemetery

He immediately adjoins St. James. The grave rows are terraced and many old grave stones speak of transience.

Former synagogue

The Alley " at the synagogue " already points to the building. 1836 in the main street 213 (now at the synagogue 9) the construction of a new synagogue with windows in the characteristic round arched style of the 1830s. The inventory of the old synagogue was taken over. In the same building there was the Municipal House, the mikvah and the Israelite elementary school. In 1938 the interior was destroyed during the November Pogrom and the Jewish community heard in the turmoil of the Nazi period to exist. After 1945, the building served as a refugee accommodation. In the 1950s, of the present church of St. Gumbert Foundation of the Catholic branch church Mainstockheim was bought.

St. Gumbertus

The church building is now privately owned. It was in 1817 converted into living accommodation. At the former church only remember the roof turret and the clock. 149

Ebracher yard

The Ebracher Abbot John of Dressel let the Amtshof build from 1618 to 1630. Not known is the builder. Under Abbot William Sölner of Ebrach originated from 1727 to 1734 an impressive gardens. Through the secularization in 1806 the building became part of the Electorate of Bavaria. Just one year later it passed into private hands and changed hands several times the owner.

1961 acquired the parents of Gabriele Brandner Ebracher the yard. The plant was in poor condition. After numerous renovations and conversions, the friendly nursing home castle Ebracher Court could arise here.

Traffic
