Maitreyanatha ( Skt. Maitreyanātha; Tib: byams pa'i mgon po; German: Protector Maitreya, also: that is protected by Maitreya ) applies in addition to Asanga and Vasubandhu as one of the three founders of the Yogacara school of Buddhist philosophy.

Whether Maitreyanatha was a contemporary and teacher Asanga in the fourth century, or whether Asanga wrote under the spiritual name Maitreyanatha is not released.
