Maizicourt

Maizicourt is a commune of 190 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region; it is part of the Communauté de communes du Bernavillois, part of the arrondissement and canton of Amiens Bernaville.

Geography

Maizicourt lies about 9 km north- west of Bernaville and 4.5 km south of Auxi -le- Château on the northern edge of the Somme in the département road D933, which is here crossed by the road department D46.

History

The place is mentioned in the cartulary in 1123 as Maisilcourt. 1420, the village belonged to the part of a Jeanne d' Occoches.

  • The war memorial.
  • Castle and Gardens of Maizicourt. The Castle on the U- shaped ground plan was built in the 18th century. The dilapidated garden was reconstructed in 1989 by the new owners with nine thematic parts and open to the public.
