Makanrushi

Makanruschi (Russian Остров Маканруши; jap磨勘 留 岛, Makanrushi -tō ) is an uninhabited volcanic island in the northern part of the Kuril Islands. It is 28 kilometers northwest of the island Onekotan and thus is located just outside of the actual, active volcanic island arc of the Kuril Islands. The island belongs administratively to the Russian Sakhalin Oblast.

Makanruschi is a roughly oval-shaped island with a length of 10 km, a width of up to 7 km and an area of 49 km ². It consists essentially of the same layer of volcanic and reaches a height of 1171 meters above the sea.
