Makoto Raiku

Makoto Raiku (Japanese雷 句 诚, Raiku Makoto, born August 23, 1974 in Gifu, Gifu Prefecture, Japan) is a Japanese manga artist.

During his high school years he won a Young Investigator Award of Shogakukan publishing house and so had the opportunity to a publication. His first work as a professional manga artist was released in 1991 with Bird Man. He then worked as an assistant for manga artist Kazuhiro Fujita ( Ushio to Tora ). His first series, he brought only from March 1999 to August 1999 with Newtown Heroes out. This series appeared in Super Sunday, a sister magazine of Shōnen Sunday.

The breakthrough came with his Raiku second manga series, Gash! . At this he draws with great success for Shōnen Sunday since 2001. The manga, which is about the struggle of a teenager and his demons friend against other demons, was made into a anime television series with 150 episodes and two feature films, and translated into several languages. The scripts of individual anime episodes and the two movies put Raiku to partially self. The book publications to Gash! , Of which there are 29 so far, sold in Japan more than 22 million times.
