MAKS (air show)

The MAKS (Russian Международный авиационно - космический салон (short russian МАКС ) Meschdunarodny Awiazionno - Kosmitscheski Salon, International Aviation and Space Salon ' ) is an international trade fair for aerospace.

It is organized since 1993 ( unofficially since 1987) every two years, alternating with the ILA and in competition to Le Bourget. Location of the event is the airfield Ramenskoje of Mikhail Gromov - College for flight research in Zhukovsky near Moscow. On the MAKS 2005 606 exhibitors and 650,000 visitors were counted. This makes it the largest exhibition of its kind in Russia. Galt, the main focus in recent years, yet the existing aircraft models and equipment of Russian aviation and other CIS countries, as the exhibition develops rapidly to the meeting point of East European and Asian aircraft manufacturers.

MAKS 2007

At the 8th MAKS including a 1:1 model of the attack drone Skat was presented. A restored Tu-144 was also on display. From 24 to 26 August 2007 MAKS was open to the general public. On the first day they had 100,000 visitors.

MAKS 2009

The 9th MAKS was held from 18 to 23 August 2009.

On 16 August 2009, there was during a training flight, the Russian aerobatics team Russkie Witjasi to a collision of two Sukhoi Su- 27th A pilot was killed. Through the falling debris caught fire several Cottages, whereby at least five people were injured.

MAKS 2011

The 10th fair was held to 21 August 2011 of 16. Were presented, among others, the multi-role combat aircraft prototype Sukhoi T -50 and the low-noise aircraft ALNA (English Advanced Low Noise Aircraft) of the DLR.

MAKS 2013

The 11th fair was held until September 1, 2013 August 27. It would be presented include a model of the new Russian capsule ( "New Generation Crew Transportation Vehicle "), which is designed to replace the Soyuz and the space plane Spaceliner DLR.
