Characteristics of the genus

The moths of the genus are usually brown to brown yellow and small to medium size. The wings are rather short and wide. The antennae of the males are combed, those of the females rather less. The legs of the moths are hairy long. The long hairy caterpillars are relatively short and smooth. The eggs overwinter and are stored in the ring. The dolls are in a cocoon and are rather short and blunt at the rear end.
