The Small Kokschaga (Russian Малая Кокшага ( Malaya Kokschaga ), mari Изи Какшан ) is a 194 km long left tributary of the Volga River in the European part of Russia.

Description

The Small Kokschaga rises near the village shura in the north of the Republic of Mari El, near the border with the Kirov Oblast. It flows in a southerly direction through mostly agricultural area.

Shortly after the junction of the Great Oschla it flows through Yoshkar -Ola, the capital of Mari Els Stark meandering it continues to flow south through the sparsely populated, heavily wooded south of the republic.
