Malay civet ( Viverra tangalunga )

The Malay civet ( Viverra tangalunga ) is one of four species of the Asian civet cats inside the civets. It is native to Southeast Asia, on the Malay Peninsula and various islands of the Malay Archipelago, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Features

The Malay civet cat has a slender body, it reaches a head-body length of about 58.5 to 95.0 centimeters and a tail length of 30-48 centimeters.

The coat is on sand brown to gray ground covered with numerous black spots, which move to the back in a stripe pattern. Are located at the sides of the neck and the throat are usually three black and two white collar -like rings. The coat is long and loose, forming the spine a black ridge of raised hair from the shoulders to the tail. The tail is curled otherwise black and white, and the feet are black.

Dissemination

The Malay civet is native to Southeast Asia to the Malay Peninsula and various islands of the Malay Archipelago as Borneo, Sumatra, Sulawesi, and most other islands of Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
