Malcolm Wallop

Malcolm Wallop ( born February 27, 1933, New York City, New York, † 14 September 2011 in Big Horn, Wyoming) was an American politician who represented the state of Wyoming in the U.S. Senate.

Life

Malcolm Wallop came at a young age to Wyoming, where he attended elementary school in Big Horn County. As a young man he studied at the Cate School in Carpinteria (California ) and Yale University in New Haven ( Connecticut ). From 1955 to 1957 he served in the United States Army, where he rose to the rank of lieutenant.

After working for some years as a farmer and entrepreneur, Wallop decided to go into politics. In 1969, he ran successfully for the Republican Party for a seat in the House of Representatives from Wyoming, where he served two terms in a row. In 1973 he was elected to the Senate his state, where he worked until 1976. In 1974 Wallop endeavored to his party's nomination as a candidate for the office of governor of Wyoming, but lost his Senate colleagues Dick Jones. In the actual election Jones lost to Democrat Edgar Herschler.

1976 Wallop ran successfully against incumbent Gale W. McGee for a seat in the Senate of the United States. On January 3, 1977, he resumed his work in Congress in Washington, DC on. Malcolm Wallop served three periods long U.S. Senator. He was between 1981 and 1983 Chairman of the United States Senate Committee on Ethics.

Upon his reelection in 1982, he was 14 percentage points votes to unite as his challenger from the Democrats, Rodger McDaniel more. In 1988 he had it but heavier than a thin margin of only 1,300 votes secured him the victory over his challenger John Vinich. In 1995, Wallop moved from politics to private life.

Malcolm Wallop was married four times. With his first wife, Vail Stebbins, with whom he was married from 1956 to 1965, he has four children. His second wife was Judith Warren, with whom he was married from 1967 to 1981. His third marriage to French Carter Goodwyn thought of 1984 to 2001. From 2005 until his death he was married to Isabel Ferguson.
