Malene Mortensen

Malene Mortensen (born 23 May 1982) is a Danish singer.

Mortensen comes from a musical family, his mother was a music teacher and a drummer, the trumpeter father. In youth she was influenced by Stevie Wonder and Nancy Wilson, and sang in the choir. Recognition she received as a candidate of the Danish talent show Stjerne for en aften, where she made it with their version of Moloko Sing It Back hits to the finals. A year later she won the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, the Danish pre-selection for Euro Vision Song Contest 2002. Contest When even she gained with her pop song Tell Me Who You Are just the last place. The poor performance not prevented their further career: Her debut album in the genre Pop Jazz, Paradise, was published in 2003; Niels Lan Doky produced by the famous Danish jazz greats Niels -Henning Ørsted Pedersen and Alex Riel were involved in it. On later albums accompany Chris Potter, Mike Stern and Avishai Cohen. She is known not only in Denmark but also toured in Germany, France, Spain and especially in Thailand, where she was already four times on tour. 2013 she appeared at the Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival on.
