Malchas Asatiani (Georgian მალხაზ ასათიანი; * August 4, 1981 in Kutaisi, Georgian SSR) is a Georgian football player. He plays the position of a defensive midfielder or a central defender and was last under contract with Lokomotiv Moscow.

Association

Asatiani began his career in 1999 in his hometown of Torpedo Kutaisi when, with whom he three times won the Georgian Cup between 2000 and 2002. In 2003, after four years at the Torpedo Kutaisi, he transferred to the Moscow club Lokomotiv Moscow. With locomotive he won the 2004 Russian Championship, both the 2005 Russian Super Cup and the CIS Cup and the 2007 Russian Cup. In August 2008 he was loaned for one season at Dynamo Kiev. In December 2010, he announced that he would want to leave the club next season.

National

Asatiani celebrated in 2003 his debut in the national team. Although he scored some important goals during qualifying for the FIFA World Cup 2006, but Georgia could not qualify. To this day, he came in 42 appearances for Georgia to use, where he scored four goals.
