Malleval-en-Vercors

Malleval -en- Vercors (until 2005 only Malleval ) is a commune with 50 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Isère, in the Rhône -Alpes; it belongs to the district of Grenoble and the canton of Vinay.

Geography

The community is located about 35 kilometers northeast of Romans- sur -Isère in the Vercors, a mountain range in the west of the French Alps at about 900 m above sea level. The small stream Nan ( Nan le Ruisseau ) rises near the village of Railletière. He has cut deep into the rock and forms the Gorges du Nan, a ravine with two narrow gorge -like, before he joins the Isère after a few kilometers.
