Malliner See

The Malliner Lake is a lake in the municipality of Kuckssee in the district Mecklenburg Lake District Mecklenburg -Vorpommern. The eponymous place Mallin is located approximately one kilometer northeast of the lake. The lake is part of the European bird sanctuary " Kuppiges Tollensegebiet between Rosenow and Penzlin ". Not far from the western shore are a conservation area and nature reserve Kuckssee and Lapitzer lake. The lake is 2090 meters long, up to 500 meters wide and very flat. The shores of the lake are mostly unwooded and vermoort.

The Malliner lake was created in connection with the glacial advances of the Pomeranian stage of Weichselkaltzeit. It lies in a glacial trough of the ground moraine.
