Malta Cup
The Malta Cup was a professional snooker tournament and was up to the 2006/07 season one of the tournaments of the main tour, for which there were world ranking points. The tournament broke after the season 2003/ 04, the European Open from, but mostly already took place in Malta.
For the 2007 /08 season in the world ranking tournament status at the Shanghai Masters was issued. The tournament was held but nevertheless as an invitation tournament of the best 16 players and 4 wildcard players, including 2 from Malta, in February. New here was that there was a group stage.
