Malte Mohr

Malte Mohr ( born July 24, 1986 in Bochum ) is a German pole vaulter.

Malte Mohr began his career at USC and joined Bochum in 2004 and 2005 for the TV Wattenscheid. In autumn 2005, he moved to TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen, where he trained with Leszek climate, from 1 January 2010 he was a member of the training group to Tim Lobinger and Fabian Schulze and started for the LG Stadtwerke München, until he returned in 2012 to the TV Wattenscheid. His coach is Chauncey Johnson.

Mohr won the 2005 German Youth Indoor Championships and until then had a personal best of 5.30 m, 2006, he catapulted himself with a jump of 5.71 meters in the German top class. A torn ligament and several minor injuries were in 2007 hardly regulated training and competitions to. In 2008, he tied back up from their previous performance and increased to 5.76 m at a competition in Poland Zary. His goal, qualifying for the Beijing Olympics, he missed though scarce, were nominated Danny Ecker, Raphael wood Deppe and Tim Lobinger.

The following year, he continued to improve, and qualified with a jump over 5.80 m for the 2009 World Championships in Berlin. In qualifying he jumped even 5,65 m, had in the finals but only one valid attempt at 5.50 meters and was Fourteenth. When indoor meeting in February 2010 in Leipzig Mohr crossed 5.83 m and secured two weeks later the title of German Champion Hall before Alexander Straub and Raphael wood Deppe. He qualified together with Straub for the World Indoor Championships in Doha. There he won the silver medal behind the Australian Steve Hooker and before Straub. At the opening competition for the Diamond League on May 23, 2010 in Shanghai Mohr skipped the only one the 5.70 m and secured the first victory in this event series. At the German Championships 2011 in Kassel, he won with a height of 5.72 m crossed. At the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, he was fifth with crossed 5.85 m.

On 31 May 2012 he qualified with the required standard of 5.72 m at the Diamond League meeting in Rome for the Olympic Games in London. A week later he won also with 5.72 m the inaugural Jump and Fly in Munich. His title at the German championships he could defend with a height of 5.82 m. A week before the European Championships in Helsinki he put on 22 June in Ingolstadt with 5.91 m, a new personal best, but missed at the European Championships in fourth place with a height of 5.77 m just a medal. At the Olympic Games in London, he was ninth.

At the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg in 2013 Mohr won the bronze medal. As early as 2011 in Daegu, he was fifth at the World Championships in August, this time with skipped 5.82 m.

On March 1, 2014 he exhibited at the Berlin ISTAF indoor 5.90 m with a new personal indoor record on.

Malte Mohr completed his training as an office clerk and a part of since the fall of 2009, the Bundeswehr.
