Maltschacher See

Maltschach is a small Austrian lake about three kilometers southeast of Feldkirchen in Carinthia.

To the west of the lake is a lowland bog. From the outflow of the lake Maltschach the Strußnigteich is fed.

The lake was originally characterized by a dense macrophytes and reed belt. By 1975 amur used both macrophytes and reed beds have been destroyed. However, no more grass carp have been detected since 1991.

The lake has 15 species of fish, the main species are perch, bream and arbor. There was also strong stocking with carp, tench and pike.

On Maltschach is a beach of the city of Feldkirchen and a resort of Sotour Austria.
