The Small Liakhov Island (Russian Малый Ляховский ) is 1,325 km ², the second largest of the Liakhov Islands, geographically it belongs to the New Siberian Islands.

It lies north of the Great Liakhov Island. To the north it separates the Sannikowstraße of the Anschuinseln.

It is named after the Russian merchant Ivan Liakhov, who explored the archipelago in search of mammoth bones and ivory 1770-1775.

On 29 May 2013, the discovery of a well-preserved mammoth carcass with muscle tissue and liquid blood was announced. The remains of the animal were in the permafrost of the Little Liakhov Island.
