Mambwe people

Mambwe is a Bantu linguistic ethnic group in the district of Mbala in Zambia. Their number is given as 262,000.

Many Mambwe are distributors and can be found in cities of the Copperbelt to the markets.

The languages ​​of Mambwe, Lungu and Nyamwanga are very similar to each other and are subsumed in Zambia under the language of the Bemba. Bemba is in these areas, the language of instruction in schools. In Tanzania, their language is strongly mixed with Swahili.
