Mandalgovi

Mandalgobi (Mongolian Мандалговь, also Mandalgov ' or Mandalgovi ) is a city in Mongolia. It is equipped with about 10,000 inhabitants, is the capital of the province Dund- Gobi. The city is located about 300 km south of the capital Ulaanbaatar.

Attractions

  • In Mandalgobi the Aimagmuseum worth a visit, which consists of two departments. In the ethnological part are, inter alia, old roll paintings ( thangkas ) issued in the natural history part of stuffed animals.
  • In the city that is inhabited by 30 monks currently monastery Dashgimpeliin Khiid also worth a visit. It was destroyed in 1937 as almost all of the 53 temples and monasteries of aimags and reopened in 1991.
