Mandja people

The Mandschias (French Mandjias, Mandjas or Manya's called ) are a people of the Central African Republic, where 274,000 Mandschias as the third largest people make up 13 % of the population.

Several thousand Mandschias, a total of 8,300, also live in the Central African Cameroon.

They speak the Niger-Congo language Manza. In politically important times (especially in wars and conflicts ), the leaders of the ethnic group can be selected by various regional bosses.

In Central Africa, strongly represented, they are often associated with the Gbaya.

Former Prime Minister of the Central African Republic, Élie Doté was a Mandschia.
