Manfred Beer

Manfred Beer ( born December 2, 1953 in Altenberg in the Erzgebirge ) is a former German biathlete.

Manfred Beer is married to the former East German champion in sports acrobatics, Heidi Berry. He is the father of the now also retired biathlete Katja and Romy Beer, who is also a biathlete. The family runs a Biathlon Camp and a small restaurant that Baude Beer in Altenberg district Cínovec.

Beer brought with the season of the GDR at the Olympic Winter Games 1976 in Innsbruck in the cast Karl -Heinz Menz, Frank Ullrich, Manfred Beer and Manfred Geyer the bronze medal. He also won the GDR Season 1978 in Hochfilzen and 1979 in Ruhpolding, respectively the world title after he reached the third place in 1977. In all seasons Beer was first runner and his colleagues were Frank Ullrich, Klaus Siebert and Eberhard Rösch (1978 and 1979 ) and Manfred Geyer 1977.
