Manfred Broy

Manfred Broy ( born August 10, 1949 in Landsberg am Lech ) is a German computer scientist and professor at the faculty of computer science at the Technical University of Munich.

Life

After studying at the Technical University of Munich, he received his doctorate in 1980 under Friedrich Ludwig Bauer on the subject transform parallel expiring programs.

From 1983 to 1986, Broy founding dean of the faculty of mathematics and computer science at the University of Passau, he held the Chair for Programming Languages ​​in Passau until 1989. Since then he has taught at the Technical University of Munich. There he was in 1992 the founding dean of the faculty of computer science.

For his work as founding dean of Passau him an honorary doctorate from the University of Passau was awarded in 2003.
