Manfred " Manni " Schwabl ( born April 18, 1966 in wooden churches ) is a former German football player.

Career

Clubs

Schwabls career in professional football began when he, from the youth department of FC Bayern Munich coming, for the 1984/85 season was awarded a professional contract at Bayern. His league debut came on 8 October 1985 (4th Round ) in a 6-0 home win over Hannover 96 His first professional goal he scored but for the 1st FC Nuremberg, to which he had changed 1986/87, on October 11, 1986 ( 10th Round ) and FC Schalke 04 in the home game 2-1 was defeated. After three seasons with Andreas Koepke and Dieter Eckstein 1989 he returned back to the Münchenern, which stood for a year, Stefan Reuter, two -year-old companion Schwabls from Nuremberg, under contract and now was one of the regulars. During the winter break of the 1992/93 season, he moved again to the " Club" to Nuremberg before 1994/95 was awarded a contract with TSV 1860 Munich. There, ended after the 1996/97 season of his career with his dismissal - due to a boycott closing ceremony.

Schwabl completed 303 games in the Bundesliga and scored 14 goals.

National

Schwabl debuted on October 13, 1982 in Homburg ( Saar) in the U-18 national team, which was successful on the selection of Belgium 3-0. Against the Belgians, he scored on January 6, 1984 in Leningrad (as part of Granatkin Memorial Tournament ) 7-0 victory his only goal. His last game he played on April 10, 1984 in Kufstein in a 1-0 victory over the selection of Austria.

For the U-21 national team, he played for the first time on 16 November 1985 in Regensburg in the 3-1 win over Czechoslovakia, scored his only goal on 28 October 1987 in Luxembourg with a 4-1 win over Luxembourg and played on December 2, 1987 in Sofia during the 1-2 defeat against Bulgaria.

For the senior team Schwabl played four times; his debut was on September 23, 1987 in Hamburg 's 1-0 victory over Denmark, his last international game also ended 1-0, as Germany defeated in Kaiserslautern, Switzerland in a Test match.

Others

After his playing career Schwabl ran a sports park in his hometown of wooden churches, which he later sold. After the unsuccessful rehabilitation of a construction company acquired by him he had to file for bankruptcy. On 7 October 2008, he was sentenced to a suspended sentence of two years and a fine of 4800 euros for a confession of fraud and filing for insolvency.

Since May 2010, he was junior coordinator since September 2011 athletic director of SpVgg Unterhaching. Since June 28, 2012 Schwabl is president of the soccer association.

His son Mark played from 2009 to 2013 in the first team SpVgg Unterhaching (3rd league). For the 2013/14 season he moved to TSV 1860 Munich.
