Manfred Wolf

Manfred Wolf ( born January 11, 1948 in Steinbach- Hallenberg ) is a former German ski jumper. From 1969 to 1973 he held with 165 m world record in ski flying.

Career

The son of middle-class entrepreneurs with Western kinship trained as a toolmaker and was not initially funded athletic in the GDR. He started at SC Steinbach- Hallenberg with the ski jumping and was later delegated to the SC motor Zella- Mehlis, where he was trained as before Helmut Recknagel by Hans Renner. During his military service wolf came forward to ASK Brotterode, where he was encouraged by Werner Lesser.
