Manfrotto

Manfrotto tripod is a manufacturer based in Cassola, Italy. The company was acquired in 1989 by the British Vitec Group.

History

The Italian photojournalist Lino Manfrotto began in the late 1960s, light holder and telescopic stand to develop. 1972, Manfrotto met Gilberto Battocchio, then a worker in a Bassano metalworking companies. In 1974, the company will have its first tripod. After a large increase Manfrotto had six manufacturing plants, also came another five in the industrial area in Feltre Villapaiera added.

Vitec acquired as the French company Gitzo (1992) and the American firm arch (1993). Vitec decided against a merger of the brands, so that all three continue to exist to this day. In the U.S., Manfrottoprodukte under the name Arch / Manfrotto are sold.

Products

Today Manfrotto mainly sells tripods and monopods, added accessory parcels and light tripods for film and photographers. In addition, Manfrotto manufactures at numerous tripod heads, including 3 -way pan head and ball heads.
