Production and representation
Manganese ( II) acetate may be obtained by reaction of acetic acid with manganese (II, III ) oxide or manganese (II) carbonate.
Is manganese ( II, III) -oxide used as starting material, the result is manganese ( III) oxide as a byproduct. Manganese ( II) acetate formed as well as by the reduction of manganese (III ) acetate.
The anhydrous form may be obtained by reaction of acetic anhydride and manganese ( II) nitrate.
