Manglish

Manglish or Malaysian English is a language spoken in Malaysia and Brunei variety of English. It is not categorized according to the international standards ISO 639 language.

Manglish is used by the vast majority of English-speaking population of Malaysia in everyday life. Even on the radio and on television coming Manglish for use.

Generally speaking Manglish created by chronic grammatical errors in the use of English, which were eventually accepted unwillingly by the Company in everyday use. These errors were mainly formed by the word - for-word translation of idioms from the Malay language. There will also be the Malay politeness particles " Lah " a much more frequent use than in original feature.

About a third of the Malaysian population speaks Chinese as their mother tongue. This language has great influence on the further development of Manglish.

The slightly different pronunciation is a minor feature in Manglish, since a majority of the Malaysian population speaks English.

Manglish is used mainly by young people. Many speakers can be found, however, in all age groups.

Direct communication between an English speaker and a Manglish speaker does not constitute a major difficulty
