Mangole Island
Mangole is an island of Sula - group within the Moluccas.
Geography
Mangole is located east of Taliabu, from which it is separated by the Strait of Capalulu; south of the island lies across the road from Mangole is Sanana. The coastline Mangoles is about 295 km long, the island's area is 1228.5 km ². Capital of the island is Auphonia in the southwest. Mangole is forested mountainous and largely.
History
Like the other Sula Islands belonged to the Sultanate of Ternate Mangole first. The Netherlands made it from 1683 to their colony, which it remained until 1949. Subsequently, it was incorporated into the province of Maluku, according to their distribution in 1999 it came to the newly created province of Maluku Utara.
Population
Mangole has about 38,000 inhabitants, the majority belong to the Malayo -Polynesian population. Originally the inhabitants Mangoles probably came from the eastern Sulawesi, where they settled in the Buru, Seram and the Sula Islands. Economy
