Manhã de Carnaval

Manhã de Carnaval ( German: "Mardi Gras morning " ) is a composed of Luiz Antônio Maria Bonfá and Bossa Nova, which has developed in the second half of the 20th century jazz standard. The song was composed in 1959 as one of the pieces of music for the Brazilian film Orfeu Negro and sung in Agostinho dos Santos.

In the following years, as well as numerous other bossa nova pieces were picked up by jazz musicians, he was re-recorded by several predominantly Brazilian artists and thereby found entrance into the international jazz scene. The song is now better known under the title Orfeo Negro or English Black Orpheus, under which he was, for example, played by Don Cherry. Spread the title A Day in the Life of a Fool, was published under the Manhã de Carnaval by Carl Sigman with newly -written text.

The pop singer Alexandra sang a German version of Ernst Bader entitled The happiness came to me like a dream, which, although backed by a rumba rhythm, but otherwise has little musical reference to the Latin American region. Georgette Dee has in turn established this version as chanson.
