Manius Acilius Glabrio (consul 91)

Manius Acilius Glabrio († 95) was a Roman politician and senator of the gens Acilia. He was the son of the former consul Acilius Glabrio. 91 he was next to the future Emperor Trajan consul. In his consulship he is said to have fought on the orders of the Emperor out as a gladiator in the arena of Albano, according to reports by Suetonius ( Domitian 10.2 ). Juvenal (Sat. IV, 99-101 ) speaks of an unarmed fight against a bear, Cassius Dio ( Hist. Rom. , LXVI, III). from a fight with a lion. 95 let him Emperor Domitian put to death, apparently he is said to have entertained relations with Christians from the family of the Flavians.

His son was the later consul (124 ) Manius Acilius Glabrio.
