Manjushree Thapa

Manjushree Thapa ( * 1968 in Kathmandu ) is a Nepali writer. She writes mostly in English.

Life

Thapa grew up in Kathmandu, Canada and the United States. The letter began, after they had completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rhode Iceland School of Design.

Her first book, Mustang Bhot was in Fragments (1992). In 2001, she published her first novel, The Tutor of History ( published in German as Secret elections), she had started creative writing at the University of Washington as part of their final thesis in the study.

Her best-known book is Forget Kathmandu. An Elegy for Democracy ( the German edition Forget Kathmandu published in 2009 ), which was released only a few weeks before the royal coup on February 1, 2005. Then Thapa left the country to freely express themselves against the coup can. Now she lives again in Kathmandu. In 2007, the volume of short stories Tilled Earth appeared.
