Manner der Rabnitz (Hungarian: Répcekethely, Croatian: Malištrof ) is a municipality in the district of Oberpullendorf, Burgenland, Austria.

Geography

The municipality is located in Central Burgenland at the foothills of Günser Mountains on the border with the neighboring state of Hungary.

The municipality comprises the following five villages (in brackets population as of 31 October 2011):

The municipality comprises the cadastral Klostermarienberg, Manner der Rabnitz, Rattersdorf - Liebing and Unterloisdorf.

History

Before Christ's birth, the area was part of the Celtic kingdom of Noricum and belonged to the area of the Celtic hillfort castle on the Schwarzenbacher Castle Hill.

Later, under the Romans today Manner village was then in the province of Pannonia. Manner village lies on the Roman Amber Road.

Belongs to this community also Marienberg Abbey, a Cistercian abbey founded in 1197.

The place was like the rest of Burgenland to 1920/21 Hungary ( German West Hungary). Since 1898, had to be used because of Magyarization the government in Budapest the Hungarian name Répczekethely. After the end of World War I was after tough negotiations, the so-called " German West Hungary " awarded by the Treaties of St. Germain and Trianon in 1919 Austria. The place belongs since 1921 to the newly founded State of Burgenland (see also history of Burgenland ).

Sports

Football: 1961 the sports club Manner village was founded. The sports field was provided by the municipality. With the inclusion in the umbrella organization Austrian Gymnastics and Sports Union in the same year, the club was renamed the UFC Manner village. The club colors are blue / white.

The UFC played the 1993/1994 season in the top division of the Burgenland, the national league. After a descent to the first class you played since the successful 2004/2005 season back in the second league middle. However, after many disposals of strong players, you play since the 2006/2007 season back in the mid- 1st class.

On 3 February 2007, the website of the municipality Manner village in Mannersdorf Schüttkasten was a cultural center of the municipality presented. The page was created as part of a project of a final year class of Bundeshandelsakademie Oberpullendorf and went online on February 4, 2007.
