Mansueto Velasco
Mansueto " Onyok " Velasco, Jr. ( born January 10, 1974 in Bago City, Negros Occidental) is a former Filipino boxer. He is the brother of Olympic bronze medalists from 1992 Roel Velasco.
Velasco was in the paper weight (-45 kg) 1991 Asian champion. At the Asian Games in 1994, he finished in the light flyweight (-48 kg) also the first place. 1995 Velasco in the final of Asian Championships the Thais Somrot Kamsing ( 14:3 ).
In 1996, Velasco at the Olympic Games in Atlanta. After victories over Hsiu Tsai Chih, Taipei (RSC 1 ) Yosvany Aguilera, Cuba ( 14:5 ), the bronze medalist of the 1995 World Championships Hamid Berhili, Morocco ( 20:10), and Rafael Lozano, Spain ( 22:10 ) he reached the final. In this he faced the Bulgarian Daniel Petrov, whom he defeated with 19:6 points.
Shortly after this success ended his boxing career and Velasco worked for ABS -CBN Corporation as a TV comedian.
