Mantius

Mantios (Greek Μάντιος ) is a person of Greek mythology.

He was the son of the ancient seer and physician Melampus and the Iphianassa or Iphianeira. His brother was Antiphates, father of Oikles; also be mentioned as other siblings bias, Manto and Pronoe.

Mantios fathered Cleitus and Polypheides. Cleitus was kidnapped to the seat of the gods because of its beauty of Eos. Polypheides in turn continued the tradition of the family of the Melampiden and was seer. After he had fallen out with Mantios, he left and moved to Argos Hyperesia, where he led an oracle of Apollo.

Pausanias also mentions Oikles the son of Mantios, but this was his nephew to Homer.
