Mantova FC

The Mantova Football Club is an Italian football club from the Lombard city of Mantua. The club colors are red and white. As the stadium Stadio Danilo Martelli club serves, which can accommodate nearly 15,000 spectators.

History

The club was founded in 1911. In the 1960s, Mantova had its most successful period when they played seven seasons in Serie A. At that time they were also used as Piccolo Brasile ( to German: small Brazil) called and today's green-yellow third jersey will remember. Twice (1983 and 1994) was registered with the club insolvency and set the game mode. In the season 2004/ 05 Mantova rose from Serie C1 after prolonged abstinence in the B series on. In the following season, the club played in the playoffs against the Torino Calcio for the promotion to the Serie A. In this case, the Turin prevailed and thus remained the AC Mantova in Serie B.

The 2009/10 season was very successful and ended with the 20th place, which was synonymous with the descent. Because of indebtedness of the club but had to be liquidated and start under the name Mantova Football Club in the Serie D. This was achieved in the group B of the sovereign ascent, which Mantua in the fourth- highest league in Italy, the Lega Pro Seconda Divisione ( formerly Serie C2 ) returned.
