Manuel Cardona

Manuel Cardona ( born 1934 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish physicist.

Life

After studying physics at the University of Barcelona, ​​which he finished in 1955, Manuel Cardona received a scholarship to Harvard University the following year. During this stay his studies on dielectric properties of various materials began in combination with silicon and germanium. In 1959 he worked at the RCA Laboratories in Zurich ( Switzerland ). From 1961 in the laboratory of the company RCA in the United States. From 1964 he continued his work at Brown University, Rhode Iceland, United States. In 1971 he was a Scientific Member of the Max Planck Society and founding director of the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart- Büsnau. He currently lives in Stuttgart.
