Manuel Herrick

Manuel Herrick ( born September 20, 1876 in Perry, Ohio; † January 11, 1952 in Quincy, California ) was an American politician. Between 1921 and 1923 he represented the eighth election district of the state of Oklahoma in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

In 1877 Manuel Herrick came with his parents in the Greenwood County, Kansas. He has acquired the necessary knowledge itself and then began to work in agriculture. In 1893 he settled in the so-called Cherokee Strip in the former Oklahoma Territory down. There he addressed the livestock and other agricultural activities.

Politically, Manuel Herrick member of the Republican Party. In 1920, he was as their candidate in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he replaced Charles Swindall on March 4, 1921. Since he was not nominated for the following elections, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1923.

After the end of his time in Congress to re Herrick devoted his private transactions. In 1933 he moved to California. He was also involved in mining. In the following years, he applied several times unsuccessfully to return to Congress. Manuel Herrick died in January 1952 on his way to one of his mines. He was caught in a snow storm and disappeared without a trace first. It was only on February 29, his body was found in the snow.
