Manuel Olmedo

Manuel Olmedo (Manuel Olmedo Villar, born May 17, 1983 in Seville ) is a Spanish middle distance runner.

Initially he specialized in the 800 -meter track where he was in the hall in 2002 and 2007 and outdoors in 2007 and 2008 Spanish champion.

At the World Athletics Championships 2003 in Paris / Saint- Denis and at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he was eliminated in each case in the flow. At the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 2006, at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka and at the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 he reached the semi-finals respectively.

In 2009 he finished fifth at the European Indoor Championships in Turin.

The following year, he moved to the 1500 -meter run. Over this distance, he was Spanish champion and won at the European Championships in Barcelona Bronze, where he was 0.02 seconds behind the silver medalist Carsten Schlangen.

Manuel Olmedo is 1,79 m tall and weighs 60 kg. He is coached by Enrique Pascual and starts for FC Barcelona.
