Manuripi Province

Manuripi is a province in the northwestern part of the Pando department in the lowlands of the South American Andean Republic of Bolivia. The province is named after the river Río Manuripi, which flows through the province from west to east.

Location

The province is one of five provinces in the department of Pando. It is bordered on the north by the province of Abuna, in the northwest of the province Nicolás Suárez, to the west by the Republic of Peru, on the south by the department of La Paz, in the southeast of the province of Madre de Dios, on the east by the department of Beni, and in north-east by the province of Federico Román.

It extends between 10 ° 49 'and 12 ° 30' south latitude and 66 ° 00 ' and 69 ° 14' west longitude, its length from south-west to north-east is 370 km, its width from north to south up to 100 kilometers.

Population

Structure

The Manuripi province is divided into the following three municipios ( counties ):

  • Municipio Filadelfia ( 11,838 km ²) in the western part of the province - 4,450 inhabitants - 0.4 inhabitants / km ² (2010)
  • Municipality of Puerto Rico ( 5292 km ²) in the central part of the province - 4,760 inhabitants - 0.9 inhabitants / km ² (2010)
  • The municipality of San Pedro ( 2623 km ²) in the eastern part of the province - 2,991 inhabitants - 0.9 inhabitants / km ² (2012 )
