The Manx are the Celtic inhabitants of Man, an autonomous island in the Irish Sea, which is under the British Crown. The Manx are an ethnic group with its own culture and language.
The Language of Man, Manx Gaelic, is one of the Celtic language group of the Indo-European language family. It is however virtually extinct in the 20th century. Manx had in 1950 still 10 speakers. However, it is revived with some success in recent years.
