Many-sorted logic

Variety logic assigns to each term in a formula to a class, called in this context, variety, and the unification only permitted when both terms of the same variety are.

From the perspective of predicate logic ( without types) such varieties are predicates. The sort logic provides for these predicates a special treatment of the above-mentioned form. Since many Deduktionschritte are here not taken into consideration because of the variety of incompatibility, the search effort is reduced significantly for a proof, as practice shows.
