Manzhouli

Manjur [ Manzur ] (Chinese满洲里 市/满洲里 市, pinyin Mǎnzhōulǐ shì ) is a county-level city, which belongs to the administrative area of the Hulun Buir prefecture-level city in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. Manjur has an area of 696 km ² and around 300,000 inhabitants ( end of 2010).

The city is a border town with Russia and various trading houses the transport, communications and commercial center Hulun Buirs. What is the continental trade terms with Russia Manjur important for the whole of northeast China.

In census 2000 181.112 inhabitants were counted in Manjur (Population density: 260.22 inhabitants / km ²).

Traffic

The city has a railway station on the Chinese Eastern Railway. Here, the gauge of the Russian broad gauge returns to normal track. About the Trans-Siberian Railway, the city is connected to the European rail network, making the transition station for European freight trains and passenger trains to China from Moscow to Beijing.

In addition to the railroad, the city has a border crossing for vehicles and pedestrians.
