Maor Melikson

Maor Melikson ( born October 30, 1984 in Yavne, Israel) is an Israeli football player of Polish descent who is under contract with the French club Valenciennes FC.

Club career

Melikson was born in Israel Yavne. His mother is from Poland and emigrated to Israel. This Melikson also has Polish citizenship.

Melikson began his professional career at the age of 18 years at Beitar Jerusalem, where he played from 2002 to 2006 and scored eight goals in 111 games. In 2006 he moved to league rivals Maccabi Haifa and played here for two seasons before moving to Hapoel Kfar Saba changed in 2008. In a season in Kfar Saba, he played only 15 games. For the 2008/ 09 season he signed with Hapoel Be'er Sheva. He played three seasons, was team captain and was national player. Looking for a new challenge, he signed in early 2011 with the Polish Wisła Kraków a four and a half year contract.

In January 2013 Melikson joined the French first division side Valenciennes FC, where he signed a contract until the end of June 2015. The release was equivalent to just over 900,000 euros.
