Maphumulo (English Maphumulo Local Municipality ) is a municipality in the district Ilembe province of KwaZulu -Natal in South Africa. In 2001 the population was 120 633 with a total area of 896 km ². The administrative center is Maphumulo, the only town in the municipality. Bhekumuzi P. Ngcobo is the mayor of the municipality. The IFP represents the majority in the City Council.
