Maple Grove is a city ( with a status of "City" ) in Hennepin County in the U.S. state of Minnesota. In 2010, Maple Grove had 61 567 inhabitants.

Geography

Maple Grove is located in the north-west of Minneapolis, Minnesota. According to the United States Census Bureau, the area of the city is 90.5 square kilometers.

History

The area of present-day Maple Grove was settled by the Winnebago Indians, until Louis Gervais settled there in 1851, a settlement built. The settlement grew rapidly, so that Maple Grove had at the beginning of the 1860s, a church, a town hall and a school. In addition to agriculture were also forestry and dairy industry is important.
