MapQuest, Inc. is a U.S. subsidiary of AOL Inc., headquartered in Denver, Colorado. MapQuest offers free map and routing services on the basis of various commercial ( NAVTEQ ) and free ( OpenStreetMap ) spatial data.

MapQuest was founded in 1967 Cartography Division of US -Verlag RR Donnelley & Sons founded. After the spin-off in 1994 as GeoSystems Global Corporation launched on 5 February 1996, the website at mapquest.com. 1999 eventually was renamed the company in MapQuest, Inc.. A year later, MapQuest was acquired by AOL and has become one of the leading online mapping services worldwide.
