Mar Zutra

Mar Sutra ( Sutra I also Mar or Mar Zutra I., Mar = Aramaic Lord; died 417) was a Babylonian amora of the sixth generation, and lived and worked in the 4th and 5th century AD.

He was a friend and fellow student Aschis. According Sherira Mar Sutra was some time before his death, the head of the grammar school in Pumbedita as successor Kahanas.
