Mara Zampieri

Mara Zampieri ( born January 30, 1951 in Padua ) is an Italian opera and concert singer (soprano ).

Mara Zampieri studied at the conservatory in her native city of Padua. After winning the singing competition in Pavia, the " Chorale Verdi Competition" in 1974 in Parma and competition " Beniamino Gigli " in Macerata, she made her operatic debut in Leoncavallo's I Pagliacci in Pavia. Other engagements have taken her to several Italian opera houses. At La Scala, she debuted in the season 1977/1978 in I Masnadieri. Other roles followed there in Verdi 's operas. The production of Verdi's A Masked Ball under Claudio Abbado, in which she sang the role of Amelia, was televised.

Their repertoire consisted initially especially the big soprano roles of the Italian operas, which she sang at all major venues and festivals in Europe and Latin America. She gave, inter alia, Aida and Norma at the Arena of Verona, Tosca at Covent Garden. At the Vienna State Opera, she debuted in 1979 at the Placido Domingo. After expanding their repertoire, she sang there in 1991 as the first Italian singer the title role in Richard Strauss' Salome.

In 1994 she gave her first recital at Munich. Since then, she devoted herself next to the Opera Stage, increasingly, the song and concert singing. 2013 she sang the small role of Annina in La Traviata at La Scala.

In Fellini's E la nave va (the ship of dreams), she borrowed the prima donna her singing voice.
